The idea - To Brunch!

The idea was born one boozy afternoon, making drunk friends at a bar during Sunday Brunch.  It's so decadent and delightful, that I've grabbed it,  and now we are off to another level of discovering this amazing city - including boroughs -  by immersing completely into one of the most awesome things to do in the city.....Weekend Brunch.  Who doesn't want to be with friends at a table, drinking bloody marys, eating an omelette, and trying to keep Monday at bay for as long as possible?  With so many restaurants to choose from, I had desperately become one of those peeps who go to the same restaurant all the time, without a thought of what fun journeys may be had on the weekend.

Now, I wish I could say that I came up with this idea  - I didn't.  HOWEVER, I am taking it for a ride, and if the first day is any indication, we will all be in need for AA or therapy or both, when the fifty-second week comes up.

I was at paradou,  with my friend DJ Wiseacre, where he was spinning at  - great tracks, all you can drink - (with food),  for 29$, which of course lends itself to crowds of the meat-packing, bridge-and-tunnel,  upper east side ladies, young kids, and gay boys.  And it was at the bar, when my friend Christine and I befriended the boys, Brian and Stephen.  They were in their third week of a great idea, indulge in 52 brunches in 52 weeks.  That's it...oh there were caveats - had to be unlimited beverages of the champagne, bloody mary, bellini variety, and it had to be fierce.  Their words. Sorry, FIERCE!

How the afternoon changed and grew and blew up,  I can't take responsibility for, even though all the peeps involved in the fight, had somehow crossed my path.  I can only say that the boys, Christine and I were graphically discussing mens penises,  Stephen said he had a PhD - (pretty huge dick),  Brian kept saying HgH - (hey girl hey), and Eric was dropping some classic house anthems so good, that we felt the dancing level needed to be raised.

This led to an impromptu dance party in the lovely indoor patio in the back, with a South African hand-clapping flavor - elevated to drunk girl dancing on our table, while drunk boyfriend stumbled into tables and chairs and people -  forcing the waiters to ask them to leave - to them starting a fight with the waiters - leading to other brunchers and the boys joining in  PARTY! OK, it was an insane crescendo...but the idea, the idea, was born!

Hope you will enjoy the journey, as much as we will.  I'm sure this will evolve , but for now, nothing too organized, but the brunch will have two requirements - Good Fun, All you can Drink...
